What About Now Cover

What about now cover... how to play this song.

Lyrics and guitar chords / tablature What About Now by Daughtry

Am Em
Shadows fill an empty heart

As love is fading.
Am Em
For all the things that we are,
We are not saying.
Am Em
Can we see beyond the scars
And make it to the dawn?

Am Em
Change the colors of the sky.
And open up to
Am Em
The ways you made me feel alive,
The ways I loved you.
Am Em
For all the things that never died,
F#
To make it through the night,
G
Love will find you.

C
What about now?
C/B Am
What about today?
G F E D
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
C C/B Am
What if our love never went away?
G F E D
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
C C/B Am
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

The rest of the song follows the same progression

Lesbian Kissing in Histeria The Movie

The lesbian kissing scene in the film Histeria, which opened in cinemas nationwide yesterday, turned out to be nothing but a gimmick. Moviegoers who caught the premiere last night left theatres disappointed when the highly-anticipated scene never materialised.

The movie created a buzz when it was reported that it contained a scene showing two schoolgirls kissing. Director James Lee told Malay Mail the actresses in the scene, Nurliana Samsuddin and Sharifah Norazean, did not actually kiss.

“The scene was supposed to be a teaser. It showed the two actresses about to kiss but were interrupted,” said Lee. This was the part shown to the Press at a media preview recently.

Lee was responding to a report in an English daily yesterday that moviegoers would be able to see the first-ever onscreen kiss by two Malaysian actresses. Nurliana was quoted as saying that they were only supposed to have held hands but were told by Lee to instead kiss to strengthen the scene.

She also said she was nervous and added that it was the most awkward experience in her career as an actress. Histeria, produced by Tayangan Unggul, tells the story of a group of girls who decide to spend a weekend at a haunted hostel.

Their stay inadvertently unleashes an evil force and the girls have to find a way out of the school. The movie marks Lee’s first commercial effort.

He is better known for his indie films such as the award-winning The Beautiful Washing Machine, which won the Best Asean Feature award, and the Fipresci Prize at the Bangkok International Film Festival in 2005.
And here is the rest of it.

Lyrics Paralyzer by Finger Eleven

I hold on so nervously
To me and my drink
I wish it was cooling me
But so far, has not been good
It's been shitty
And I feel awkward, as I should
This club has got to be
The most pretentious thing
Since I thought you and me
Well I am imagining
A dark lit place
Or your place or my place

Well I'm not paralyzed
But, I seem to be struck by you
I want to make you move
Because you're standing still
If your body matches
What your eyes can do
You'll probably move right through
Me on my way to you

I hold out for one more drink
Before I think
I'm looking too desperately
But so far has not been fun
I should just stay home
If one thing really means one
This club will hopefully
Be closed in three weeks
That would be cool with me
Well I'm still imagining
A dark lit place
Or your place or my place

Well, I'm not paralyzed
But, I seem to be struck by you
I want to make you move
Because you're standing still
If your body matches
What your eyes can do
You'll probably move right through
Me on my way to you

Well, I'm not paralyzed
But, I seem to be struck by you
I want to make you move
Because you're standing still
If your body matches
What your eyes can do
You'll probably move right through
Me on my way to you

I'm not paralyzed
But, I seem to be struck by you
I want to make you move
Because you're standing still
If your body matches
What your eyes can do
You'll probably move right through
Me on my way to you

You'll probably move right through
Me on my way to you

You'll probably move right through
Me on my way to you

Ban on tortoise helmets soon

Ban on tortoise helmets soon

KUALA LUMPUR: Half-shell helmets will soon be banned because they do not offer adequate protection for motorcyclists.

Road Safety Department director-general Datuk Suret Singh said the necessary laws were being drafted for the ban.

We are going to ban and confiscate them. They are not suitable for riding motorcycles,he said.
Onthe way out: Motorcycle shop worker Andy Sanjaya removing a half-shell helmet from the shelf in Petaling Jaya Tuesday. CHAN TAK KONG / TheStar

Suret Singh said the helmets also known as the tortoise or turtle helmets because its bowl shape resembles the shell of the animals and did not meet the safety standards.

He said the proposal would include seizing the helmets from the shelves of retailers.

These people are smart. Malaysians don't read labels, and retailers place. Not motorcycle helmet on the label and continue selling.

They tell us it is a toy helmet. There is no such thing as a toy helmet. A helmet is a helmet. he said.

Suret Singh also urged motorcyclists to change their helmets at least onceevery five years, as the material in the shell deteriorates over time.

Look at the manufacturing date when buying helmets, he said, adding that helmets that had endured impact or had been dropped should be replacedeven more frequently.

Since the helmet-wearing awareness campaign kicked off in December 2006, Suret Singh said some 50,000 helmets had been given out, with almost 20,000 defective or old helmetscollected in exchange.

The helmet-wearing rate in rural areas had increased from 40% to 90%, he said.

Nextyear, Suret Singh said the Road Safety Department, together with RotaryDamansara and the Automobile Association of Malaysia, would bedistributing child safety seats.

He said baby, child and boosterseats were important in minimising the injury sustained to childpassengers in the event of an injury.

Baby seats are meant forthose under one year, child seats for children between one and fiveyears, and booster seats for children between five and 10,he said.

Suret Singh was speaking to reporters after the soft launch of the Malaysia International Road Safety Exhibition (Mirex).

Proton dealers blame maintenance monopoly

KUALA LUMPUR: Red tape has been blamed for the high cost of maintaining the government's fleet of Proton Perdanas.
Proton Edar Dealers Association Malaysia's (Peda) deputy president Armin Ba-niaz Pahamin called on the state and Federal Governments to lift the monopoly on the service and maintenance of these vehicles at government-registered authorised workshops.

"They should end this practice to ensure competitiveness and to provide an option for servicing and maintenance," he said.

"This will do away with corruption and the exorbitant costs."

Armin said there were more than 300 authorised Proton Edar and Eon service dealers who could provide more competitive quotations.
"These dealers have been appointed after very stringent and regular assessments for competency and quality control.

Armin said the statements by the the state governments of Terengganu, Perak and Penang of the high cost of maintenance of their Proton Perdanas were damaging to Proton dealers.

"We know for a fact that the maintenance costs of Proton Perdanas sold now is not as exorbitant, given that the cars are sold with a five-year extended warranty.

"Regular scheduled maintenance range from RM200 to RM500 per annum," Armin said.

Magistrates face danger in course of duty

KOTA KINABALU: A magistrate from Malacca never expected some of the life-threatening hazards he had to face when he was posted to Sabah.
Zaini Fishir is one of about 10 magistrates who mentally prepared themselves for the worst when they travelled in a 15-year-old four-wheel-drive to remote locations to extend the services of the court.

"It is so different in Sabah compared with the peninsula where you have village roads which are sealed. Here in the interior, you have logging roads and sometimes no roads.

"It is dangerous to travel during the rainy season when roads get muddy. Sometimes there are landslides and you also need to cross rivers. Once, we almost skidded into a ravine.

"I have come to realise that not all people are fortunate. They don't have access to services that most of us take for granted," he said.
The magistrates also face the challenge of having to try to understand the dialects used by the rural people, coping with 10 to 15 people who want their attention all at once and bringing with them extra fuel for generator sets and food for families who are kind enough to host them at their homes.

At the Pagalungan area in Pensiangan, which is one of the most difficult places to reach in Sabah, they risk their lives in tiny boats in raging rivers, paying up to RM100 for a one-way trip.

Some have had to come face to face with huge waves on their way to islands, arriving drenched at their destinations.

Magistrate Azreena Aziz said although she is a local, the experience of reaching faraway places has been an eye-opener.

"It has been exciting and once you meet these people, you will come to realise that there are many things that they don't know when it comes to their rights.

"Many of them really cannot afford to go to the nearest town. That is the other thing we have learned, and that is why they don't bother to get identification documents," she said.

Proton:The Failed Experiment of Dr. M and UMNO

Article from : http://www.malaysiawaves.com/2008/12/its-about-time-someone-stands-up-to.html

It seems Pakatan Rakyat state governments are standing up to Proton. So far, Perak, Selangor, Kedah and Penang has expressed their utmost desire to change their official cars from Proton to another brand.Selangor feels that they should change to a 4x4 while Kedah wants to change to Toyota Camry. They all agree. Proton gives them lousy cars that breaks down all too often and it costs them an arm and a leg to repair the cars each time they breakdown. But then again, it's what most Malaysians have experienced through and through.

Proton:The Failed Experiment of Dr. M and UMNO

According to most economists, for a car manufacturer to break even and reach Economies of Scale, they must be able to produce at least 1m cars per year.

Proton, at it's peak when it controls 65% of Malaysian domestic market only managed to produce 227,000 cars. And to make matters worse, Proton has never exported more than 20k cars per year.

So, it has now become a white elephant. It itself is a drain on our economy.

The funny thing is that Dr Mahathir was warned of Proton's impending failure back when the project was about to start. The consultants warned him that Malaysia just doesn't have a population big enough to provide a domestic market large enough to sustain Proton into a profitable entity.

According to them, a car manufacturing nation must have a population of at least 40m people. In fact, countries like Indonesia and Thailand would make a better country to have a national car.

Proton Cons Malaysians Just to Survive

According to a study conducted by JD Powers and Associates,Protonhas the worst quality among all cars in the Malaysian market. It doesn't take a consultancy like JD Powers to convince average Malaysians about how "crappy" Proton is. I mean, a Toyota Corrolla 1979 is more reliable in terms of quality then a Proton Wira.

We've all had experience with Proton Wira. After using them for 3 years,we've probably changed at least 20% of all the parts in the car. The same goes story with Iswara and Waja.

In short, it's a crappy car and it's quality is non-existent.

But then again, there's nothing wrong with a low quality car. What's criminal is when the low quality car is sold at medium quality price range. Recall that for a Proton Wira 1.3 was sold at RM45-50k. The loan period is usually 5 years and one have to pay at least RM500 and above for it's installment.

For someone earning RM3k a month, that's almost 17% of one's income per month. Adding maintenance cost per month plus tol and gasoline, the total cost for maintaining a car runs to about 25% of one's income.

Then we have not even begun to talk about the price of Proton's spare parts. It's another area where Proton makes a killing and the spare parts rarely last more than 2 years anyways.

Isn't that criminal? A Proton Wira with the quality Malaysians are familiar with should be sold at not more than RM20k all in. In other words,Proton is making more than 100% profit above it's supposedly value. Plus they're making a killing out of services and spare parts.

In some countries, for RM50k you can actually buy a high quality Sedan like Hyundai Sonata.

How Does Proton Gets Away with Murder

Simple. What Dr Mahathir did was he jacked up the import duties of all other cars between 40%-300% range. Thus making other brands much more expensive to buy. So, that way, even if the price of Proton is doubled from it's true value, people will still feel it is cheaper to buy a Proton.

This made Proton uncompetitive. They are shielded and protected. They know they can come up with a wreck to sell and Malaysians will be forced to sell it. Kinda like car companies under the former Communist countries like Yugo and Skoda.

But since this is a Dr. Mahathir white elephant and so call national pride, none can say anything about it.Malaysians just have to bear the sufferings of owning a Proton and having to pay through their noses for a car that's so bad in quality.

Proton Prevented Malaysia from Becoming Asia's Automotive Hub

Because of Malaysia's refusal to liberalize the Malaysia's car market in order to protect Proton, major car manufacturers of the world like BMW and Mercedes chose Thailand instead of Malaysia to set up their Asia hub.

Now instead of Malaysia, Thailand is known as "the Detroit of Asia". Think of how much opportunities could have been created if Malaysia was chosen instead of Thailand?

Think of the amount oftechnology transferred, the number of jobs created, the amount of capital inflow into Malaysia, the hike in Malaysia's GDP. Think of how much good it will do to Malaysia.

And Proton workers will be the biggest beneficiary of all. Suddenly they will find vast job market for them work in. If they use to be a engineer in Proton, they could easily be chief engineer in some other plants and so on.

But because we want to protect Proton, we do away with all these opportunities just to protect the ego of one man name Dr Mahathir Mohammad Iskandar Kutty.

And let's take a peek at what Dr Mahathir's ego has prevented Malaysia from getting in terms of investment:

"Investment is pouring in. Last year(2003), Ford unveiled plans to spend $500m to expand production. Nissan, having forked out $190m to increase its stake in its local joint venture, is now investing another $250m on new assembly lines. Toyota will spend $750m, both to increase capacity and to set up a research and development facility. Even Mitsubishi, which is struggling elsewhere, has found $525m to invest in its boomingThai operations."

Proton Have Lousy Parts Manufacturers Too

The Proton Suppliers and Parts Manufacturers are also lousy. One of them is Ingress owned by Rameli Musa.

The guy tried to expand his business to Thailand and Indonesia but to no avail his effort have failed so far. So, he is reliant on Proton for the core of his business because of the monopolistic nature of his business.

So,when there is a potential regime change in Malaysia to Pakatan Rakyat,he started to panicked. He then influenced PAS leaders to form unholy alliance with UMNO in the spirit of Malay supremacy and unity.

The real reason for this is because he knows PAkatan Rakyat will favor liberalization of auto market and removal of protection for Proton. In an open market Ingress will fail just like it's failing in Thailand and Indonesia. So, whatever the means he must make sure BN will not fall.

All the story about Malay Supremacy and Malay dominance is nothing but hot air. The truth is he wants to protect his bread basket. So, let the corruption continue for all he care.

The story of Rameli Musa's involvement in bringing PAS to BN is told to us by Raja Petra Kamaruddin, if one were to recall. It's another example of a Malay entrepeneur being afraid to compete in the real world.

It's Time for Proton to Stop Conning Malaysians

As one article from The Economist puts it:

"Proton represents all that was wrong with Dr Mahathir's Malaysia: a firm born of nationalist ideals not commercial rationale, protected by old-style cronyism and never exposed to real competition. Like its creator, the best thing may be to let it go gently into retirement."

Conclusion

I am glad someone is standing up to Proton. Let Proton learn their lesson and realize that their bullying of Malaysian days are over. It's time forthem to wake up and smell the coffee.

Go ahead Pakatan states. Goand buy Toyota Camrys, Toyota Harriers, Range Rovers etc.Just stop buying Protons. Lets teach them a lesson they will never forget.

Math genius Sufiah Yusof (pic) is no longer a prostitute and has found a new interest – social work, reported Harian Metro.
The daily, which spoke to an Islamic non-governmental organisation known as Kumpulan Penyokong and Pengasuh Profesional Islam (Pisang) reported that 23-year-old Sufiah regretted her previous activities.

The group’s director of planning and strategy Hanafi Abdul Malek said the former Oxford University student wrote in an e-mail a week after Hari Raya Aidilfitri that she was no longer in the “flesh trade” and her agent confirmed this.

“However, Sufiah informed us that she was not ready to meet her family again, especially her mother, Halimaton Yusof,” he said, adding that they plan to meet her next month.

Sufiah, whose mother is a Malaysian and father Farouk a Pakistani, made headlines when she admitted recently to being a prostitute, charging customers around £130 (RM728) for a “session”.
